To celebrate the 30th anniversary of their first album, Brazilian rock giants Titãs have launched their own beer label. To ensure the hops truly rock and reflect the Brazilian identity of the band, the specialists at Colorado brewery were drafted in as the support act.
The result is a brown ale with an orange twist, inspired by the British tradition of infusing both rock and beer with a national charm. With strong and dark notes, and rocking a 5.5% ABV, Colorado Titãs will be distributed in gig-friendly 600ml bottles.
The union between Titãs and Colorado was conceived by officinatres, the management office responsible for the band.
“We saw the opportunity to combine two companies that have the same attitude and market positioning,” said Cristina Soares, partner at officinatres. “This beer has arrived to crown 30 years of hard rocking by Titãs! It’s for fans, rockers, brewers and everyone who believes that a successful partnership can last years by sticking to its roots.”
The songs and trajectory of the band were used as inspiration to define the new beer concept. “Our creative process was very collaborative, just like the composition of a song,” says Ronaldo Nascimento, president of Colorado.
“We sought a style of beer suited to rock, a brown ale, but with a touch of daring Brazilian attitude that characterizes the band, which has a lot of personality, does not yield to fads and remains true after so long. Just as Colorado always has,” said Nascimento.
And the search was successful, delivering a beer that stands out in the market. It’s dark, but not sweet or caffeinated. And the orange enhances the aroma subtly.
For Titãs, this new venture is truly in keeping with the band’s history. Beer has played a role since the beginning of their career, so it is natural that a beer accompanies them now. As well as conducting the Titãs brand beyond the musical universe, the launch also relies on the talent and potential production of national microbreweries.
